Melted wax

Hey guys
I was wondering if anyone knew of a good way to get melted wax up that has become hard again in a center console...?

put an old microfibre on it then use a steamer over top to liquefy the wax?

It should go into the old microfibre but be careful not to over steam any electronics on the console...
