What's the best wheel cleaner for BMW rims? Anything from mcguairs you'd recommend?

From seeing some BMW's driving around, the wheels seemed to be caked with brake dust. I would think a simple APC would do the job.

Soap and water is the safest method, but that would mean washing often

Once you get them cleaned, apply a sealant to make your life easier

I use it on all of my cars, even works on the nasty Jaguar brake dust.

Wolfgang Tire & Wheel Cleaner is formulated for versatility, this cleaner is as equally gentle and effective on wheels as on tires! (http://www.autogeek.net/wg4600.html)

Once you have the wheels clean, you apply a wax (sealant) this will make your life easier next time you clean them. It helps keep crap from sticking to them

Collinite 845 would be a great choice. Its very affordable, and looks great on paint (your car) too

PS Its Meguiars Noob :o

Haha lol -- Point taken.

Yeah, I may get that but I am intrigued by the Wolfgang Exterior Trim Sealant, rubber trim sealant, rubber protectant, exterior trim products, metal sealer (http://www.autogeek.net/wolfgang-trim-sealant.html)

Don't know why people are skipping these but these two are forum favorites.

SONAX Wheel Cleaner, all wheel cleaner, chrome wheel cleaner, aluminum wheel cleaner, full effect wheel cleaner (http://www.autogeek.net/sonax-wheel-cleaner.html)

Griot's Garage Heavy Duty Wheel Cleaner, Griots wheel cleaner, hd wheel cleaner (http://www.autogeek.net/griots-heavy-duty-wheel-cleaner.html)

I own the Griot's HD Wheel Cleaner but I haven't had the chance clean up the rims on my car yet but I have used this

Pinnacle Gel Wheel Cleaner will give you dazzling results on your wheels, tires, and bumpers! (http://www.autogeek.net/pigelwhcl.html)

And it sucks. Its like a maintenance cleaner for lightly soiled rims..something with heavy brake dust that I've seen in pretty much all sporty/German cars I would just get the Sonax/Griots HDWC

You can also just use APC to clean up your rims, but if you want something even more heavy duty than the two that I posted you might wanna look at this

Meguiars Wheel Brightener is a professional grade wheel cleaner for factory coated wheels! Meguiars wheel cleaner and brightener makes coated wheels (http://www.autogeek.net/meguiar-s-wheel-brightener.html)

Acid based so be careful.

I use P21. Stuff works great and I own a Subaru STI that makes a crap load of dust.

Like others said car soap will clean rims real easy if you wax it first. I wax my wheels once a month or every two months. I use ONR to clean them down. Its quick and easy, thing with wheels its always a bit of work

for daily drivers and most cars purple power 1:1, its a degreaser stronger than apc with various brushes. Purple power is 5 bucks a gallon and works really well. If you want to spend some money then gets megs wheel brighner or sonax. They two are more spray and walk away and rinse off. every cleaner out there works if you agitate it. I love the daytona speed brush, a wheel/fender brush, and some mf towels/terry cloth for tires

BMWs are known for stubborn brake dust build up. I only use SONAX XTREME.
