Seems a bit pricey for what you get.

Seems a bit pricey for what you get.

Why would you say that? You get a backing plate, 4 buffing pads (2 each cutting and polishing), D300 compound and the D301 Finishing Wax for 90 - 100 bucks depending on the size pads. That seems very reasonable to me given the success people are having and the life they are getting out of the pads. :dblthumb2:

If I hadn't bought LC and WG/Menz stuff on sale/BOGO just before this came out, you can be darn sure I'd be trying this. I'd just swap the finish wax for 205 or maybe WG FG or Menz 106 since I want a sealant.

I also don't understand why they make you buy their backing plate.

the megs backing plate is recomended because of the style of the hook and loop which is designed to disapate heat faster not to cause the the pad to have a meltdown.

They don't. You only buy there backing plate if you buy the kit with it. You can buy everything separate. I don't use their backing plate. Although I will probably order it when I get a Griots machine. The backing plate does help things stay cooler, that is why they recommend it.

As for the price, it is a good buy for a really nice product line.

Take it you are not a Megs fan?

I just got another PM telling me how well this system works. I guess I'll be getting the kit to tinker around with on my G110V2. I think that polisher needs a reason to be in my van so what the heck. If the kit works well with the G110V2 then I'll order up a GG 6" ROP the following payday.

Just wondering how this system works with the 3401? Any of y'all using this set-up?

I bought the 5" kit from AG for ~$70 + free shipping during a sale - I have since used the megs backing plate with LC pads -
