Working on a logo for a future mobile auto detailing business.
What are your thoughts on this logo?

Looks more medical than detailing unless you had some medical name in business name like Auto Aid (play on words)....

What will be the name of the business?

Looks good but I agree we need to know the name as well to make a good recommendation... Please don't take this wrong in any way but the logo kinda looks like one of the medical Marijuana logos close to my shop...

LOL.

This logo reminds me also of:
Numbers 21:4-9
John 3:14 and 15

A suggestion, perhaps:

For Your Vehicles' Paint Injuries Visit:

Michaels' Paint Medicine Shop...
We Will Heal Your Paint's Wounds :)

@ OP...I like the "shield"...Get rid of the snakes!

Like others have said, looks way to much like a medical patch. I like the creativity though.

Sorry AG members. I just noticed that I posted a version without the text layer - user error.. One number off in file name. I guess that is what I get for posting when I was so tired.

The name of the company is Shine Doctors.
Here is a properly saved version of the logo.

I based the name off of the fact that doctors are one of - if not the most - trusted professions and that doctors are typically extremely skilled at their trade.

As a former graphic designer I would have to say, simplicity is important here. In most situations your logo will be much smaller than it is on the computer screen here. The intricate details in the lettering will not be seen (and with lower quality prints may actually look blurry or smudged).

I'm also not sold on the snakes or the drop shadow on the image either.

A standard logo for a big corporation generally only has a couple of colors. Some may have gradients, but if they do they will also have an alternative logo with less colors.

A general rule of thumb, that has been pounded into my head for the past three years, is that you should design a logo with black and white in mind. Try converting the image to black and white, or even better, print it, the xerox copy it. If is still looks good you are on the right track.

As a last thought, some of the greatest designers broke all of the rules and redefined them. =D

Great points...

I like the shield a lot but for everything but a big banner it will be very cluttered... Here is my logo and it works great as a full front business card, letterhead, etc...

With this logo I can lighten it easily and I have one of just the words in the box...

I am not a graphic designer, have little knowledge of graphic design, and I only have a fair understanding of photoshop from past use.

MatthewM: Thank you for the suggestions. I posted the full detail version on the forum as I knew it would show quite large and the details would be obvious. For print use - such as business cards - I have a slightly modified version of the logo - shown below. I do not know if it is a good idea or not to have the two logos, but you are right about details disappearing and not being obvious.

If you care to help please PM me and I will send you the PFD version of the file so you can make some changes for me.

I also have a business card is in the works. Phone number omitted as I have not purchased the dedicated line yet and do not know what the number will be.

I use us in the call to action as this is going to be a family business.

Everything can easily be changed if someone wants to help. Nothing is set in stone at this point.

Also, if anyone cares to help remove the "snakes" cars driving in circles on a road up the symbol, I would greatly appreciate the help.

Here is a link to the full detail PSD if anyone feels ambitious.

Just wondering, what program did you use to design your logo. I need to work on one myself lol
