I got a small bottle of Optimum Poli-Seal from flatstick's let's keep it going giveaway in January. I had tried it out on a few hoods here and there, but until Friday, I had not had a proper chance to try an entire car with the Optimum Poli-Seal.

First things first, I was not expecting to do a review on this product, but after seeing the results, I felt that I had to share my experience. This means that I have a very minimal review, not anything close to as complete as what I would normally submit for a review, because this product simply caught me by surprise.

Today after a short vacation I decided to clean up and detail my Wife's Prius. After washing it I found some contamination on the bottom part of the car, so I brought out the clay which resulted in stripping the protection. I needed to put something back on the paint to protect it, and there were some light swirls in the paint, so I decided to give 1-stepping a shot.

First I tried XMT 360 on a green CCS pad, and found that it did not finish down cleanly, and required wiping off the residue afterwards. Not having enough time to need to wipe down each panel after polishing I decided to pull out the Poli-Seal knowing that from using it in the past that it simply disappeared and required no wiping.

I applied the Poli-Seal with the Flex 3401 on speed 5 with a tangerine LC hydro-tech pad. After priming the pad, I put 3 pea sized drops on the pad to cover a 2'x2' area, and made 3 medium speed passes by which time all of the product was completely transparent. I moved around the entire vehicle, cleaning the pad with a nylon brush every 2-3 panels. I experienced almost zero dusting, there was occasional slight dust, but very minor. After finishing the car it blew off quickly with a quick hit from the Metro Master Blaster.

Sometimes they say the proof is in the pudding (basically you don't know until you have tried it) and I was very surprised by the results. The product page claims that this product will not hide defects, and that the results you see are the removal. This is something that time will tell, however if true, it removed light swirling and some marring from using a Cobra Bug sponge to remove some road paint.

Without further delay, onto the pictures:

The Opti-seal kinda gummed up the polishing pad ... not sure if this is going to be toast yet, I have it soaking in APC+ 4:1 to try and remove the gunk.

Final thoughts: The Poli-Seal was a dream to use, it is truly a one-step and just disappears into the paint, no wiping or buffing necessary. I was able to treat the entire car in not much over an hour, which is amazing, and as you can see it looks fantastic! I had forgotten about this product, but will be putting it in a future order for a true one-step. The paint slickness is good, but not quite as slick as WGDGPS or a dedicated sealant. Durability and beading pictures will be added in the future.

I had no issues with staining trim, however, I treated all of the trim with UTTG before polishing so that I didn't have to tape up. The only negative is that I think the product has gummed up my pad and it is either destined to only be used with this product or headed to the trash. Tomorrow's project is to try and clean out the pad an see what happens.

Another Optimum product that I have been happily surprised with.

A polish on, walk away AIO!? Wow. A polishing that would save time is a plus. I can't wait to try mine.

great review !

This product does sure correct from my experience. I dont believe you will see any difference after stripping the paint.

I wish my car corrected so easily. I'm supposed to clean up my brothers black prius today, so i'm glad I found your thread this morning ! :)

I've ordered a 32oz bottle of poli-seal but have yet to use it. I'm really glad that I made the right choice of buying the product based on your review. Thanks for sharing this with everyone Bill!

BTW, have you used D151? If so, I would you compare the correction abilities of poli-seal to D151?

Thanks!

I have not tried D151, but this stuff works so well I would not be tempted to move away from it. The comparison between XMT 360 and Poli-Seal was night and day.

If you want afters, I will get some today and post them up if we get some good sunshine (cloudy right now, so not sure if we will get some sun later). Thanks she was happy with it. I cleaned up the entire interior which is more important to her, and put UIGP on everything and it looks great.

I have a bottle of unopened XMT 360, but I feel no reason to use it since I like the Poli-Seal.

Could you elaborate with just a few opinions on some of the difference's that you have experienced between the 2 products ? Thank you ! :)

I have a unopened bottle of Poli-seal and was glad to see your review. Your wife's car looks fantastic, the clarity is awesome. If I can get results similar to your's, I'll be more than satisfied. I was thinking of using an orange LC pad.
