I have been wanting to try a different compound that would be comparable to M105 since I was almost out of that, then ran over the bottle... :nomore:

I was thinking about Menzerna PO83 Super Intensive Polish since I usually use Menzerna 106FA to finish up.

Should I stick with M105 or try something different?

SIP would be good or PowerGloss, but PG has more cut and does not finish off near as well. Try sip!

There is no other compound on the market that cuts AND finishes as well as M105, IME. SIP will not cut as good as M105.

So better off sticking with the M105 then?? Alright, made that decision easier haha.

Good choice. You can always try Meg's Ultimate Compound that you can pick up from your local Autozone. It has longer working time than M105 and easier to remove, but not as much cut as M105. Still more than SIP, though.

Doesn't have the cut of M105.

Scholls S03+ is the only other compound I have found that will both cut and finish on par with M105. That being said it's super expensive and very hard to get in the states.

I would say stick with M105. Like it was mentioned SIP will finish wonderfully, but doesn't have anywhere near the cut of M105. Powergloss has slightly more cut, but finishes very nasty, so bad that lots of times you would need two additional steps to get the paint looking perfect. Ultimate Compound is an awesome product. Again it doesn't have quite the cut of M105, but it also doesn't have any of the issues of M105. Low dusting, long work time, doesn't dry like concrete...

There has been some talk that the new OPT compound is suppose to be on par with M105, but I haven't received mine yet so I can't speak to that.

Doesn't finish nearly as well as M105 in my limited experience. This is with a DA. It's supposed to be very powerful with a rotary, bur I can't comment on that.

Glad to hear your thoughts. I'm looking forward to trying it both on a DA and potary. How was the cut in your opinion?

Honestly, I feel M105 cut better with a DA. One important thing that I figured out is you do not have to use as much polish as M105. I primed the pad and added one good sized pea drop and that was plenty for a section. Again, this was with a DA. Please share your thoughts when u try it.

Remember that sip has a longer working time. I use sip after m105 to further refine 105. Sip is dat technology (diminishing abrasive technology whereas 105 is smat. You have to make sure that you break down sip! When i use 105 on da i never have the issue where it dries like concrete ..

I haven't tried 105, but the idea of a SMAT finishing well is contradictory to me.

I get fantastic results with SIP though, if you want a sample let me know.
