When dealing with fairly new cars with few swirls and waterspots, should i use a light swirl remover/polish or just use a paint work cleasner without any abrassive?

Use the least aggressive product that can get the job done...If you don't get results you are looking for - switch to more aggressive product.:)

In most cases a finishing pad (grey or blue) and a finishing polish (Poorboys SSR 1.0, XMT 1, Menzerna FP) are all that is needed.

I'm going to try the ssr 1.0 and the finishing pad on a new lexus with some neglected paint tomorrow. Thanks again for the advice.
