First and foremost, they claim to have no dusting and long working times. Also, they all use SMAT abrasives(which I like). The previous versions used DAT(not a fan of for the most part). The compound II is supposed to have more cut than M105 and a longer working time. Awesome! The biggest advantage in the new lineup is polish II, IMO. Meg's lacks a medium polish that uses SMAT technology. The polish II is supposed to still cut very well and finish very well! Optimimum finish is supposed to be a very light polish that wont marr even the softest paint, and really amp up gloss. If all these polishes work as they claim too, I don't see myself needing any other polish when using foam pads and my Flex 3401. The Meg's MF cutting discs and D301 aren't going anywhere, though. Needless to say, I have all 3 new formula polishes from optimum on the way!

I sure will keep an eye on this thread. The big question is, how will the compound finish compared to m105. As far as we all know, the finish of m105 for being a compound, is just too damn good to be beaten! I still want to see how they preform.

Sure, but M105 can sure be a pain in the a$$ to work with at times.

True, if these new formula compound and polish finish like m105 and have a longer working time, bye bye m105!

By the way mark, have you tried m105 on a rotary polisher?

Yes, it's does the job, but not user friendly, IMO.

Thats strange. M105 on my makita works like wonder. Never had problems with it. But enough about m105, let us know how those new optimum polishes are once you get them!

i am real fond of the hyper sprays. Really easy to work.I I prefer SMAT also. May have to get some 8 oz to try.

Would you not consider D151 a medium cut?

I wonder what Optimum would say the recommended combo (pad/polish) for a one stepper (most regressive cut but yet likely to finish well enough for most) with a Flex or DA? For example, Optimum II with an orange pad or Compound II with a white pad?
