Howdy, wanted to post some boating fun, as this is one of the boat projects I've been working on over this pasted week. Customer is selling this boat and wanted everything perfect inside and out, along with graphics install. Boat was repainted 5 years ago with a single stage process and the paint was already thin in some spots so I had to go slow, meaning da for correction on the whole thing. Luckily most was just salt water staining.

Process was Optimum No Rinse Wash & Shine 128 oz. New Formula! (http://www.autogeek.net/opnoriwash12.html) wash
Correction done with Collinite Fiberglass Boat Cleaner #920 (http://www.autogeek.net/fiberglass-boat-cleaner.html) which went really well, removed staining and oxidation with ease.
LSP was Collinite Fiberglass Boat Cleaner #920 (http://www.autogeek.net/fiberglass-boat-cleaner.html) applied thin after the graphics install. This is pretty much my go to for marine protection.
Metal which I really didnt get many pics of was rusted in some areas along with salt water deposits. Used Collinite Metal Wax # 850 (http://www.autogeek.net/collinite-metal-wax.html) which removed all of the rust, but not all of the salt water deposits even using a machine, but neither did any other metal polish I used. I usually use this metal wax on boats and my customers have reported great protection usually in the 6-8 month range.

Quite a change, after the graphics were put on, and the owner also repainted the bottom after I was done. Total time spent, 3 days :buffing: More fun soon to come!

Yeppers, I told the owner those were the biggest I've ever done, usually just do them on cars lol

My pricing is easy, 10-15 a ft for wax 20-25 a ft for correction and this includes interior cleaning/waxing or correcting depending on the boats/rv's needs, and also depends on if they want the haul waxed/corrected :)

Huge lol, not really sure to be honest with ya, but it is one of the biggest boats that you can trailer, only beat I believe by the 38ft falcon

Wow, great job. I have a 22 ft Grady-white 226 hard top we are going to detail this Sat. I have never polished Gel-coat before, but I have experience in correction on clear coat and single paint automotive paint. i now that gel-coat is harder and thicker, and requires more aggressive means to remove oxidation.
Any advise on how to proceed? It has very light oxidation, it has been well maintained, but the owner needs it looking the best it can get. i plan on using Collinite Fiberglass Boat Cleaner #920 topped off with Collinite 845. I own both a rotary and a PCXP. i have LC 6.5 CCS pads and also Meguiar's Soft-Buff 2.0 Polishing pads as well as a wool pad and 4 inch wool pads.
I also heard that Meguiar's D151 Paint Reconditioning Cream can be used.

You have the tools and products for light oxidation removal :)
Rotary+920=bye bye light oxidation and will be ready for 845 and the pc :)
