This the combo that I used last fall on my silver metallic 2010 malibu.

Now two washes into this spring and there little rust-like spots around the wheel wells and trunk area.

Could this be a result of bad application or could it be something coming up through the paint?

If it is something I can take care of how?

Thanks in advance.

I use these products religiously on two silver vehicles and neither cause what you've described. Rusting near or around wheel wells are most likely caused from particles thrown up from the road or the brakes.

Sean's given a great suggestion for solving this issue...:props:

Sounds like rail dust a.k.a. brake pad/rotor shivers

Time to clay bar or Iron X

Yeah I guess I should've explained my post about why to use that product, but I believe the links and the Video did that job:) OP If you search the forums you'll find many people that have recently used IronX on various cars from white to silver etc etc showing black/orange spots that come out with the use of this product.

Here's a contest that AG held for members using IronX

Forgot that you could just clay it away. If you don't wanna buy new product like Flash says you could clay that area and if it all doesn't come out order up some IronX:props:

I did try the clay and it did not work too well. I guess I will have to try this stuff out.

Do you use this stuff and the go about normal protection then?

Btw thanks for a quick solution.

Its basicly one of the steps that people are doing now.

Wash
Dry
IronX
Clay
Compound/Polish
IPA Wipe down/Wash
LSP

Here's another product you could use that does about the same that IronX does

Finish Kare Paint Decontamination System, auto paint cleaning system, de-contamination solution (http://www.autogeek.net/finish-kare-paint-cleaning-system.html)

This product isn't sold by AG so just google search ValuGard.

Iron X is much safer than that FK system
