I'm working on a 2007 black metallic Dodge Magnum RX, Hemi. It has swirls and holograms. I used my Flex 3401 on speed 2 1/2, Meguiar's MF polishing pad & D300, still have holograms. Switched over to Griog's 6" on speed 4 with Meguiar's MF cutting pad & D300, still have holograms. Then tried Griot's, Meguiar's cutting pad and M105, still have holograms. Went back to Flex with Meguiar's MF cutting pad & M105, still have holograms.
I have not used any polish yet because I thought i should have the holograms out by now. Will polishing get the holograms? I don't know what to do now?
BTW, this is my bosses car.

A light polish with a softer pad will get most holograms out. For examples, megs 205 with a white ccs pad took out the swirls I put in my moms black equinox with megs 105 and an orange pad.

If they arent too bad, you might even wanna try a light polish with a finishing pad. Especially if the paint is on the softer side.

Thanks for the info, Kaleb. I think I'll try Meguiar's MF finishing pad and D301 tomorrow, hope that works. If not I'll jump over to M205 and see what happens.
It really was getting frustrating, 105 heat index here didn't help either.

105 is some tricky stuff.

Make sure you do a test spot with the finishing disk. I have issues with softer paint and the MF disks.

I use a Makita 9227c, when I get any Holograms I use Menzerna 85rd and Gray LC pad.........works like a charm every time.

Unfortunately, I don't know how to properly use a rotary. I'd probably make the car look worse, if it's possible. I'll just have to use the tools I have and hope I can get em out. This is the first car I've had with holograms so this is a learning experience.

usually..any holograms/hazing can be taken out using a quality finishing or micro polish.

After using the Flex, MF polishing pad and D301 I still had holograms. I must be missing something because I have all the necessary tools. Since I'm using a Flex, I wonder if switching over to a foam pad and M205 would make any difference?

Nice to see no one else has had a problem removing holograms with a Flex 3401. I sure thought there would be at least a few.

I can't comment on Meguiar's DA Microfiber Correction System because I haven't used it yet. I'm also skeptical whether you can simply swap compounds and polishes with these pads as they're designed as a "system"..

Test the following on a small area to evaluate its success.

Try using a Lake Country White Flat Polishing foam pad with Meguiar's M205. This pad has a very light cutting ability and works well with Meguiar's M205. Work the area on speed 4 to 5 in a criss-cross pattern.

Once complete switch to Lake Country Gray Flat Finishing foam pad with Meguiar's M205. This pad has a composition enough to withstand added pressure during final finishing to remove buffer swirls.

Personally, I like the Menzerna Polishes and they let me tailor the cut to gloss ratio nicely when I have something specific in mind.
