has anyone tried using a small hvlp paint gun for this? they are small enough to get into these places, and the cups hold products for several uses. i thought about getting a cheaper version and trying it. just someting i thought about. thanks

I have never used one. Can you adjust the spray pattern?

I've used my mini hvlp gun before on tires with incredible results,I'll have to give it a try up in the wheel well too. Only prob i see is overspray getting on the tread until you move the car

I have two Devilbiss HVLP guns, one of them smaller than the other. It seems like it might be more of a hassle to break out the gun, load it up, and clean it out for each use when a spray bottle is always right there. I'd also be worried about having an entirely metal HVLP gun accidentally scratching the paint. Then you run into needing a foam applicator if you decide to use a gel on the tires.

Meguiars Hyper Dressing diluted 3:1 for tires and wheel wells in a spray bottle is great!
