is it ok to wetsand with the dilution ratio of clay lube? im asking this because water sometimes seems to get the paper stuck while sanding. i wetsanded a headlight the other day with onr and it was a much better experience. but is it ok? :dunno:

ONR and Auto Magic Body Shine are the 2 products I use for wet sanding. I prefer ONR.

same here, i just wet sanded a headlight to test stuff out and the paper just glides so smoothly. i guess i will have to purchase a gallon of ONR. i bought the 8 oz since i had never tried it and so far, im loving this stuff!:dblthumb2:

I wet sand with ONR all the time. I think it works much better. I've even used spray wax. I just soak my sandpaper in warm water to soften it up, spray some ONR and go at it. IMO, it's perfectly fine. :xyxthumbs:

Interesting use of ONR. I've always just used plain water. Maybe ONR acts like a water wetter also.

If I understand you correctly, if it's getting stuck, I'd use more water (from a spray bottle). It's similar to compounding (only extreme). There is a lot of removed material "gunk" that is clogging up the sanding sheet that you want out of the way so the abrasives can do their work. I also wouldn't want any extra heat in there.

I have limited experience with wet sanding but the few times I've done it I've used ONR as my lube.

I use water with a few drops of Meguiar's #00 Hi-Tech Wash... guess I'm just old-school like that :o

I usually add about a cap full of ONR to my bucket with the sanding paper and keep a spray bottle of ONR handy.

Some (3M) wax and grease removers are VERY strong and can soften paint, I would absolutely AVOID them when wet sanding. Seems like a very bad idea to me.

I've always just added a small amount of soap when hand sanding. When DA sanding I just use water.

I agree, i still never heard of anyone using wax and grease remover as an aid for wetsanding.
