I just dropped in to report that I have a project car to start a thread on. My son, who has been driving the same car that carried him through college and since then has finally been able to move up to the kind of car he's been dreaming of for years in the form of a black 2005 E500 AMG. Beautifully kept except for the very visible swirls in the paint. He lives and works about 2 hrs. away but he's coming to visit in a couple of weeks when he takes vacation. During the visit we will take on the task of putting the paint back in proper order.

More to come.

Welcome back - make sure your son joins MBWorld.org - plenty of good feed back about the W211 E-class. They are great cars but require TLC. My wife has one and just loves it!

Wow.. what a welcome. Nice to be back. I'll pass the MBWorld advice on to my son and I'm sure he's been trying out the shifting and if I encourage him too much the wife'll have me sleeping in the garage.

Will be sticking with the Poorboy's line for the restore. Stay with what I know for the boy's ride. Don't want to use it as a test bed .. even if something else may be better. Have SSR1, 2.5, & 3; Pro Polish; EX-P; and I just put some new Natty's Blue on order with some new pads for the DA.

Thanks again for the warm welcome back.
