View Full Version : If You Have A Dehumidifier You Have Free "Distilled" Water

Like some others here, I've become a big fan of No Rinse car washing. Not only does it eliminate water spotting, but it takes less time and uses far less water. Saturday I was getting ready to do the cars and I looked over and saw the gallon jugs of dehumidifier water my wife collects for watering the garden and mixing Miracle Grow, etc. So, instead of draining down our RO system, I used that. Works great since it is functionally "distilled" water - there is no mineral content aside from the trace metal it picks up off the condenser coil and probably a little bacteria and mold. The NR likely kills that, but if it really freaks you out, add couple drops of clorox.
