Hi,

I just clayed, polished, sealed and waxed my car for the first time this year. A lot of work, but definitely worth it!!!! Unfortunately, I didn't tape off my car in all the necessary areas, and as a result, I can see that I got some polish (or sealer) on some of my black plastic trim. What is the best way to clean the plastic to remove the dried wax? I have seen a thread on this topic a while ago, but had no luck finding it, even tried using the search function.

Thanks,

apc at 1:1 or megs #39 both will be good w/a stiff tooth brush. if that doesn't work try a pink eraser

You can also try a pressure washer also if all else fails.

IPA or APC first. If nothing works then I'd suggest picking up some Pre-WOW cleaner. Stuff works great!

Thanks everyone for all your suggestions!!!! I tried using some APC at 1:1 and it seems to have done the job.

Thanks again,

IPA and APCs will remove your wax tho, on your trim and your body.

Not a dumb question at all. APC = all purpose cleaner, IPA = isopropyl alcohol. The abbreviations can be overwhelming.

Not dumb at all is right! I searched this when I first got on the forum. I printed it out and still use from time to time.
