I got the steamer finally and I tried it out on some tile grout which it did do a very good job. Now, can the temp. be dropped it seems pretty hot to me to use on paint and especially leather! How you I do leather seats with it? How would i use it on paint?

Congrats on the purchase of the VX5000! The temp coming right out of the temp should be around 300 degres. You can check this using a candy thermometer. For leather, you'll want to use the diaper wrap. You'll be surprised how well it works.

Go try and clean some grout and report back the results. This would be my main reason for purchasing this unit

i did clean grout flash and it did a awesome job i sprayed some krud cutter on it let it sit for 2 minutes then hit it with the steamer and man did that steamer take out all the black in it, I did use it without the KK with great results as well but the KK gave it the EXTRA kick!

Midnight, the diaper wrap is the towel that came with it? it came with terry towels and two other towels that im guessing are "diaper wraps". Im just scared that it would burn the leather and when using it as a direct steam on paint it would damage paint?

I used straight steam on the tile and grout. I took about 15 sec per tile and they were dirty! I used some cleaner at first but realized the steam did it fine.

We use the steam on paint all the time. It's great for removing wax/polishes from the badges. As for the diaper wrap, yes, use the cotton terry towels that came with the steamer and for replacements you can purchase the towels at costco.
