I've been using Meguiar's Gold Class then switched to Megquiar's NXT to wash my baby. But from reading several posts on this forum I've begun to wonder - does it really make much difference which car wash I use? I'm a daily driver, and wash my car once a week or so. I'd appreciate your recommendations and experience with different washes and shampoos.

And thanks for a great forum!

Check out PoorBoy's SSS, DuraGloss #901, Meguiar's #00.. all have extreme slickness, and good cleaning ability.

You can mix some washes if you like. Like a little NXT with a little PB's SSS, for good cleaning ability, and good slickness.

My favorite is the Meg's Gold Class. I didn't care much for Meg's NXT. The DP Extreme Foam is good and I just received a bottle of PB SS. I tried it today and I have to say the Meg's Gold Class is still my all time favorite.

Duragloss 901 and Poorboys SSS are my go to's, I have Megs Gold Class and NXT and barely use them, only NXT when I'm doing a strip. I just washed my sisters truck today with DG 901, god I love this shampoo, foamy and slick as heck.

I think for the money, you can't beat DuraGloss. It is slick yet foamy, inexpensive and not too harsh. I seriously suggest you give it a try. Yes, you probably have to order it, but I would be surprised if you weren't really pleased. The bottle ought to last you quite a while too.
Lauren -Hope that helps!!!:)

It does matter what kind of wash you use. some washes are very harsh and will strip wax. also some soaps are slicker then others,

some of my favorites are

Victoria wax super soap
Top of the line bubble bath (this stuff is awsome and cheap)
and optimum soap (new forumla ofcourse)

I currently use NXT but when it runs out I will try Gold Class or Duragloss

My favorites so far are DP Xtreme foam formula, Poorboy's SS&S, Pinnnacle bodywork, Duragloss, and Optimum.
For bulk washing and dirty vehicles I prefer Megs NXT (sometimes with a cup of Poorboy's Bug Squash).

Another Poorboys Suds and Duragloss fan here, really love the Pinnacle and Wolfgang washes also but to expensive considering how many times I wash weekly.
