Is Flash OK??

Sorry if this is a repeat thread (I do not know of any yet)...

I know many here might not have payed any attention, but Philbert (aka Flash Gordon) lives around (or in?) Memphis Tennessee, which has recently been flooded out.


I haven't seen him post anything recently and was wondering if anyone else notices this...hope he and others are Ok.


Whatever your opinions are of him, I hope you all take a moment for prayer (or reflection) for our friend, and to all who have suffered do to the recent outbursts of harsh storms in the U.S.

LOL, yeah me too, I noticed he hadn't been posting but figured he got a time-out or banned. Here's to hoping he doesn't have a wash bay in his living room.

This may be the case, but Memphis did get flooded out by the Mississippi about the same time he stopped posting, and it's still rough down there...so I don't know what happened...

Yep, he got himself banned; his ban over on Autopia.org was lifted as well and it only took him a matter of a couple days to get re-banned for a week there too.

Certainly hope he didn't get caught up in the weather nightmare either way.

We've had quite a crazy time going on down here with this water situation. To be quite honest with you, its really not been as bad as its appeared on t.v. Only 350-400 residents/business's have been affected. Most all of those were not flooded by the Missisippi River, but buy other smaller rivers and tributaries that feed into the Missisippi. Whats happening are these other tributaries and rivers are being backed up buy the brut force of the Missisippi

We've had mass sightings/killings of snakes and other rodent creatures seeking higher ground. The northern section of downtown is inudated with Deer/Coyotes that have no where else to go. We've also had two creditable sightings of Aligators and one sighting by a Tennesee Game Warden of a 15" Python. From what I could gather, it seems the Game Warden believes the Python was realesed by some kook owner though, so of course thats a relief

BTW...Its just Flash to my friends. Its Philbert to the bill collectors ;)

Bann sounds so drastic. I prefer to call my time out periods; vacations :coolgleam:

That happened last May 1st. I awoke just in time to watch 1-3 inches flood 75% of my home. So this, I can all to well relate to what the ppl who are suffering from this are going through :(

Memphis got spared for the most part. Arkansas has miles upon miles of water ruining a ton of crops. Something I wasn't aware of is Eastern Arkansas produces 50% of all rice worldwide, so this will obviously create a problem in the very near future as 100's of thousands of acres are ruined. If you are a commoditys broker, you may wanna act now

Tunica MS has been hit hard too. All of the Casinos have been shut down, and many of their properties are under 25+ feet of water. Their saying up to two months before they reopen

Where the real problem is going to hit though IMO, will be Vicksburg MS. Its a very rich historic town that has a weak levee system. If something breaks there, it will be devastating for sure. New Orleans and Baton Rogue are not out of the woods yet either :help:
