My wife put the applicator for my UPGP into the wash and the applicator split at the seams.

Is there any way to either ourchase a replacement, or can someone please suggest another applicator that is the same or similar.

You can purchase them on the Ultima site.

Anytime. It would be nice if AG did sell these as one bottle of product will certainly outlast a single applicator!

I just sow up the seam. As the steam never touches the paint its fine.

How are you supposed to clean the pads?

My wife put it in the washing machine on a cold gentle cycle to clean it. We have a front loading HE washer.

When it came out, it was torn at the seams.

Thats actually a good question. I have been using Dawn and ahand wash. Seems to work.

The pad supplied as part of the "kit" is a bit larger than most available but it appears to be nothing more than soft foam covered in microfiber. I think any microfiber applicator pad would suffice or simply wrap a thin microfiber towel around a foam pad and you should be fine...

You could just order this:

Cobra Microfiber Applicator Pads spread car care products evenly & neatly. Cobra microfiber is nonabrasive and safe on clear coat finishes. (http://www.autogeek.net/cobmicpad.html)

As it's simular to the one supplied with UPGP.

You can use any foam or microfiber applicator, to a problem or big deal.

Infact I'm sure you used to be able to purchase the Ultima microfiber applicator on AG. I actually bought one before I bought the Paint Guard plus. Atleast I have a spare one incase my first one ever breaks.

I've only washed my Paint Guard Plus applicator once, but I used dish detergent, Pinnacle microfiber detergent and Micro-Restore and none of them managed to remove the sealant from the applicator so I gave up and just left it as is.

Agree! I have used other pads with no ill effect!

Well, Ultima products are so highly concentrated they nearly last forever. You'd be hard pressed to find an applicator to out last them.

I am still on my first applicator with no issues.
