I love both. So I can't shoot or poison the cats to protect the wheels.

Last weekend I treated my tires with a can of Meguiar's Insane Shine that I had bought a long time ago and never used. I applied it according to the instructions and it not only cleaned the surface of the rubber, but it gave a very nice finish.
Now the bad part. The smell must have attracted every cat for miles around. There must have been five or more "cat sprays" on each tire in the morning. I hosed it off right away and gave it a real good wash with dawn dish soap to remove every trace of the Insane Shine before applying another product. No more cat spray that night.
Has anyone else had this sort of "attraction" problem with a product before? I have had bees drawn to certain waxes before but never cats.

No responses, so I guess nobody had anything like this happen to them.

LOL!!!! This is the first time I saw this post. That sucks. Maybe you could test it by spraying something else and leaving it in the yard.

I have that problem with dogs, but I don't think it's because of the tire shine. Dogs just like to mark tires, and my neighbors don't know what a leash is.

This Friday night I'm going to hit just the front wheels with Insane Shine again and see what the Saturday morning result is. Maybe last Saturday night some cat was having a party in the neighborhood.

That is hilarious. I used to volunteer at a greater cats preserve, cats like to cover-up anything with an odor including visitors. Will be interesting to see what happens friday night.

I repeated the application of Insane Shine this Saturday. Only the front wheels this time and left the rear wheels untreated as a control.

Damn cats got me again! Even thought I had a little rain Saturday night I still had three cat sprays on one front wheel and two on the other. And NONE on the rear wheels.

No more Insane Shine for me. Too bad, the stuff looks great! Unless it is being applied to a car that is being garaged I'm done with it.

LOL! That is hilarious. What does the insane shine smell like? You are brave for putting back on your tires. I would have sprayed something else.

Though great that you tested it out again :xyxthumbs:

I guess insane shine contains some cat pheromones or something!

[QUOTE=M.P. Cobra Fan;467085]LOL! What does the insane shine smell like?

It has a really sweet, candy like smell to it. I actually really like the smell. But I have never had the desire to pee on my own car afterwards.

I have a neighbor down the block that I don't like very much. I know just what to do with the rest of the can of Insane Shine.:birthday::rolleyes:
