I received this car the other day while the owner was on vacation. She wanted everything done (and eventually wanted the headlights done as well). Anyway, after some LC pad issues, I eventually finished her up. The car hadn't been touched on the outside except for certain.....automated methods....in over 2 years so it needed some love. I'd say that other than the front end (which I couldn't do anything else with due to stone chips and such), I'd imagine that 99% of the scratches were removed. Onto the process.

Wash & dry
Clay bar with Meguiar's detailing clay and ONR as lubricant
Wash and dry again
Taped off
LC yellow flat foam pads with PC7424 and Menzerna Power Gloss
LC orange flat foam pad with PC7424 and Optimum hyper polish (love the combo with these two btw)
Headlights were done with 1000 > 2000 grit sand paper and compounded/polished
Tires were done with Pinnacle Black Onyx tire gel (and it makes me hungry every time I smell it)
Interior done with some APC and Aerospace 303

I think that about covers it all....onto the pictures!

What was used on the floor mats?

Nice job! What was your LSP? What did you use on the glass?

Thanks everyone. As for carpets, it was 6:1 Meguiar's APC and a brush (I really want an extractor) but they were pretty worn and can only go so far. Additionally, the LSP was Menzerna's Power Lock that set for ~12 hrs followed by a coat of liquid soveran. For the windows, I really like the Windex for Automotive but I used Meguiar's glass cleaner concentrate (5:1 roughly) with the Cobra Waffle Weave Microfiber Glass towel. I absolutely love those things and it really helps with not creating streaks. The Cobra Waffle Weave Microfiber Glass Towel cleans & buffs glass to crystal clarity with the soft texture of genuine Cobra microfiber. (http://www.autogeek.net/ww1627.html)

Thanks everyone. I wasn't expecting it to take that long but she loved it and said she's sending more work my way.

Ahh, the yellow pad, one of the most infamous of LC pads. Their open cel structure makes for cool compounding. Nice choice.

Good work!!

Haha thanks. I actually had problems with both of my yellows ones. The flat foam LC pad had the center of it basically fall out (yellow dust EVERYWHERE) and then the backing on my yellow CCS pad started to come off as well. I have used the CCS one a few times though, it's more of a back up

Tip for this: Lower the speed. Use speed 4 or 5 instead of 6. It seems to cure my melting pad issues :props:

I usually use between 5 and 6 but I will try that! The flat foam LC pad didn't have anything to do with the speed. It was only 15min into using it (brand new)
