Unbeliveable. I gave the girl a $100 bill when I filled mine up and left there feeling very depressed with the change I recieved back :(

Why are prices so high?

$4.00 and counting in the metro D.C. area. Your absolutely right, it's either gas or groceries. I wasn't thinking I'd go on a diet in this way.

cheapest diesel around here is $4.49. I put in 20 bucks yesterday and almost got 4.5 gallons.

I thinking about going on a weekend drive up to mt hamilton to modesto. Maybe 70 or 100miles of hairpin tuns and me going a bit to fast in my old benz.

Oil is traded exclusively in dollars, and the dollar is rapidly losing value. It takes more dollars to purchase commodities (oil, gold, silver, ect). Willful blocking of domestic exploration and recovery, no new refineries, ethanol subsidies, all the different fuel blends for different parts of the country, all add up to a steaming bowl of not good.

All great points Brian! Wait until the dollar's no longer used as a benchmark for pricing!!

Standard & Poor's has attached (http://www.ft.com/cms/6503e6fe-69c0-11e0-826b-00144feab49a.pdf) a "negative" outlook to the United States' sterling credit rating. The ratings agency did not actually downgrade America's debt, currently rated at AAA/A-1+. Rather, it said there is a one-in-three or better chance that it will downgrade it if the United States does not get its fiscal house in order, and quick.
