Friend brought his car in to me, 1999 jeep. It looks like some tree Sap or something ate the clear. I am going to be fixing the swirls ASAP but no idea what to do with the etching.

some spots show little lines in the clear, others aren't as deep.

What can i do this to make it better if anything? protect the rest of the paint?

overall the jeep is in great condition and a repaint is not possible?

Was the Jeep parked where birds drop bombs?

The cracks in the paint are similar to what can happen when some kind of corrosive substance lands, dwells and even dries on the paint. This can be a bird dropping or even some kind of tree sap.

Because the cracks are throughout the layer of paint, not just on the top surface, (topical), you usually cannot remove the defects 100%.

Sometimes you can improve them, but not always remove them...

Buff the paint to the best of your ability and whatever you end up with will be what it is...

if its not a repaint the mf disc using m105 works great. It took out water spots that wouldnt budge using a purple foam wool pad with m105.
