This is my first detail of my black 2010 Accord.

I did this over two days. The first day I washed using the two bucket method and clayed the entire car. The following day I finished up by taking on all the swirls and waxing.

- Washed using Meguiar's Gold Class Car Wash Shampoo (TBM, grit guards, Lake Country blue sponge)
- Clayed with Meguiar's Clay Bar and QD
- Tires dressed with Poorboy's World Gloss Tire Gel
- Griot's Garage DA
- Wolfgang Total Swirl Remover (5" LC flat orange pad)
- Poorboy's World Natty's Blue Paste Wax
- Cobra and Poorboy's microfibers

I didn't take many pictures, but here's what I have.

It's apparent that I didn't do that good of a job taking car of the paint in the one year I've had her.

It was real cloudy when I finished so I don't have any good sun shots. I'll put some up tomorrow morning if it clears up.

I don't have pictures of it, but I overapplied the wax. It wasn't terribly hard to remove, but that's the most effort I have ever put in buffing off wax. Lesson learned. :)

Regarding the last two pictures, would that be marring from the orange pads? Would following up with white pads take care of that? When I pulled out to check my results, I didn't see any of that until the camera's flash picked it up; it wasn't noticeable in the sun. The marks are extremely fine. It took me three hours to go over the entire car with TSR 3.0. By then, I was too tired to go over it again with white pads; it doesn't bother me too much since I honestly can't even see it unless I use the camera's flash up close.

I may go over it again later this week with white pads if I have time.

Comments, criticism and tips are more than welcome. :)

Looks good.

Did you apply any polish after the Total Swirl Remover such as Finishing glaze, M205, etc?

Looks good.

Did you apply any polish after the Total Swirl Remover such as Finishing glaze, M205, etc?No, I was tired and I was running out of daylight; the lighting in my garage is poor so I mostly rely on any light that gets through the windows.

If I decide to use Finishing Glaze or another polish later this week, do I need to strip the wax? Or will the act of polishing take care of that?

For best results - strip the wax:dblthumb2:

Wow, that car was in pretty bad shape judging by those before pics.
Excellent work getting the car corrected.

If you go over it with a white pad and some WG FG, it'll take car of the fine swirls left from using WG TSR.
