The wife, the cats and me were hunkered down in the bathroom for about 30 mins but we are safe and sound. Once the hail started we headed for the bathroom but the twisters stayed south of us. It was an experience that I could have done without.

The worst parts went about 5 to 10 miles east of us after it hit downtown. We had a quick intense 10 min downpour and found bits on fiberglass insulation stuck to the roof as well as a 5-in thick chunk of foam in the driveway this am. It was skipping as it moved so the worst when the touched down. There were like 4 or 5 tracks of storm in parallel as it moved north north east.

Nothing but some rain here at the beach.

I am praying for everyone in Raleigh and Sanford.

Thanks dad07. I did find some insulation on our front steps this morning and it wasn't from our house or any of our neighbors.

I live just west of Hillsborough (maybe 30 miles west of Raleigh) and we survived with no damage. Actually drove the the beach that evening (Carolina Beach) around midnight.

Noticed some down tree's along I40, but if it wasn't all over the news you couldn't really tell anything had happened (at least going down I40 from Durham to Wilmington/Carolina Beach)

Wife is a nurse in the trauma center over at UNC Chapel Hill and they got a bunch of patients from all over the state. From the descriptions she gave me (obviously HIPPA doesn't allow for much stuff to be said) there will probably be a few more deaths.

We made it through ok, My inlaws were a half mile from the Lowes in Sanford, they had no damage. My thoughts are with those who lost loved ones and their homes. I am truely blessed.
