Are there any marine/boat/watercraft detailers here? Seasoned as well as rookies. Just curious because this is not a topic covered very much here.

I must have felt the vibes! I thought you had a thread Mike? I will search for it when I get back to my apartment.

You didn't see me posting much today because I was first washing the inside and then washing the outside of tomorrow's project. Always work clean.

I have a couple threads on my own boat extreme makeover...

1967 Starline Deville - Extreme Makeover (http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/show-n-shine/21147-1967-starline-deville-extreme-makeover.html)

And I've buffed out a few performance boats and large fishing/pleasure boats in my life but I've always gravitated towards "Special Interest" cars as a preference...

Drag Boats like my Sanger are easy because for the most part they are simple in design... this was always actually fun to detail...

1970 Super Sanger Flat Bottom Drag Boat - V-Drive
National Title Holder - 1976 Super Modified Class 1/4 Mile in 9 seconds at 122 mph.
Owner/Driver: Rick Baker

This is what it looked like when I sold in in 2001, after 20 years of polishing and waxing...

Very nice Mike! And thanks for the replies. Anyone else out there that may be into this? Even part time or just maintain your own watercraft? I know this is an auto detailing forum but it never hurts to break things up a little. I have seen a couple airplanes, Anthony (B&B) has posted some RV's and buses, and I have seen a few motorcycles. With all the guys and the big trucks I'm surprised there aren't more boat pictures. :)

Not real familiar with boats but have done a couple RV's and I have to say they are very tiring.

I have an 18' Glastron that I like to take care of. She is real clean right now because I'm trying to sell her to upgrade to a new Sea Ray 210 SLX.
I love seeing boats all cleaned up and in the water.

I do a few boats a year. Definitely not my specialty though.

I actually have a 31ft Formula that I'm going to be polishing out next weekend. I'll be sure to get lots of pics.

Washed this inside and out yesterday... detailed it today... it just pulled out of the Show Car Garage and is on its way home...

I work on boats quite a bit during the early summer time. Everyone wants a fresh coat of wax before a long summer of boating. I honestly dislike working on boats, but I hate passing on any job that comes my way. Gel Coat Labs by Premium Finish Care are some great products for getting the job done, but it still take more work than a car.
