Oakley Car Washing Shoes?

I don't how many of you all have seen these before or not, but basically they are a shoe that you can get wet and it's designed to to allow it to flow out of them. Big plus for those who love to wash:props:

I am thinking about buying a pair, since I hate having soaked shoes and socks after washing. Plus my dedicated washing shoes are not comfortable at all. Has anyone else here bought a pair and could share their thoughts on them?

Yeah, kinda does. Another very popular detailing vendors sells them under the name Car Washing Shoes, but they are the Bottlecap model shoes directly from Oakley

All I wear when I detail are Nike Free's. But I rarely get soaked, or at least my shoes don't.

LOL - The only reason I wear shoes period is to be professional lol - Im sure Payless Shoe Source as equivalent shoes for a 1/5 the price.

I have a pair.....they are great.... not a gimmick, when your feet get wet, a lot of the water drips thru...

Thats where I bought my current pair of washing shoes.:laughing: After a few times of getting wet they have become stiff and uncomfortable

Ed, Highendetail, was wearing something cool at Detailfest. I believe they are called Skele-toes but not sure if water proof.

Scott are you referring to vibram five fingers? I have them and they are pretty cool. I know John has the Oakley car washing sandals and likes them, but no experience with these shoes.

I have a great pair of sandals that have a vibram sole and nylon straps. They have a lifetime warranty and cost me about $90 in 02 or 03. I think they are Choccas or something like that. My all time favorite sandal and is fantastic for anything in water.

Does anyone know if they fit tight in your foot size? I usally wear a 10.5" shoe size but these are only offered in 9.5"/11" in the Dark Grey (that's availible).

Good supportive footwear when working is essential. It will save your legs and back from overuse injuries. The footbed and fit of the shoe/sandal should be the first consideration when buying. I choose my footwear based on the footbed/fit/support and build quality. I have found Merrell shoes and sandals to fit me the best with the support I need and they are bomber in terms of durability.

Get a good supportive shoe or sandal, your body will thank you.

Search "water shoes" and you'll find dozens of choices from Wally World to your favorite highly promoted brand.

The water shoes are a nice idea because they typically don't have lots of padding or fabrics that hold water. In my case, the thick socks I have to wear this time of year kind of cancel the benefit, but short of waterproof, insulated hiking boots, I haven't found a better solution.
