While cleaning my car today, I noticed that there is excessive oils on the steering wheel, both stalks and on the door where I rest my elbow when I drive. I have tried using APC+, but it is still there. After everything is dry, you can still rub and some dirt accumulates and falls off.

Any idea how to get all this oil off so my steering wheel and other interior parts look and feel like new again. It's kinda gross having all that oil buildup there.

Thanks! :)

When it comes to removing human oils from steering wheels and such, I have two methods that work pretty well. First one is my steamer, it works great at this kind of thing. The other is to use the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. Both work, but I still prefer the steamer...

If you use APC+ you need to scrub.

APC + and a terry cloth. I used APC. 10:1 and spray on the terry cloth and start cleaning.

Too bad I don't have a steamer. I will try using APC+ while scrubbing with a brush. You would of thought I had tried that!

Thanks everyone!

I used Megs APC + terry towel and it removed some oil drop stains as well

I have great luck with Meguiars APC, 10:1 ratio. As to one suggestion to use a magic eraser bar, be careful with that, really careful. You can remove finish from the vinyl if you are not careful. It happened to me a couple of times. I no longer use the eraser bars anywhere in/on a car.

That's exactly the kind of thing the Autoglym interior cleaning pad excels at. One of the best investments I have made for cleaning interior plastic surfaces.
