iam a old guy,72 years old and found this site looking for buffing pads for use on new paint. since i retired 12 years ago my son thougth i needed to keep busy and i have restored 2 cars and am currently working on a thrid one. the first was a 1992 mitsu 3000gt vr4, the second is a 1992 dodge stealth. they both are twin turbo, all wheel steering, all wheel drive and have both won at car shows. the one i have now is a 1970 pontial lemans. my son in law is waiting on me to paint his 1969 nova. i knew there had to be other buffing pads other than mequirs. i found what i needed here. my user name is mcshooter since i had a master class rating in both pistol and highpower rifle shooting. iam now limited to car work only.. this site looks great and will logging on to learn more about auto care.... thanks folks

:welcome:from another ol' Ohio member.

I was reminded of this the other day:
When one gets older: First they forget faces. Then they forget names. Then they forget to zip up. Lastly they forget to unzip.

Myself, I'm just thankful that wrinkles don't hurt! Enjoy the forum. :)

i believe about the last time i shot competion was about 1986 . i used a m1a on the matches, the club i belonged to now has a 1000 yd range, wish i could still shoot. they had there first match at 1000 yd, up till now i think the only 1000 yd range is at camp perry. i shot a lot of team matchs at camp perry. i had a remington 40x with a mcmillian barrel that shot a 3 inch group at 600 yards. hard not to make a master class. the last time i shot pistol was 1992 in a local gun club. the best avg i had on the 30shot national course was a 287 avg. i did win a 3 state pistol championship was 1962.. so i guess this shows my old age. now all i can do is work on my sons cars and play golf with a bunch of old foggies also... i cannot believe i did not know of this website since i also belong to 3sgto, nova and performance years sites.. thanks guys

Awesome I did some 800 yard open sight with an m1a, and alot of the "older" guys were very competitive in that class. 287 Congrats on that :) I hated competitions only due to special diets I went on to limit shaking

perfections a rifle story for you. even tho iam 72 i still do not need glasses. when i thougth a little better eyesight would help i went to a eye doc that some shooters were going to. he had me bring my m1a in to his office . of course i had it in a case . he had me sitting and aiming at a street sign about 400 yds away and he was flipping different lens to see if it would help me see the target better. if you did that today they would have the fbi, swat guys, atf and every other police there. .
