For those of you that have used this with the PCXP and the Flex 3401, which size MF pads work best with each device?

Because of the size of the 3401's backing plate, you are pretty much stuck using 6" pads unless you buy the new smaller Flex BP for use with 5" pads.

On the PCXP you can use any of the available sizes, but for maximum correction power I would stick with the 5" pads and pick up the 3" pads for tighter spots. I've used the 6" pads on my original PC and while they do work just fine, they stop rotating far easier than the 5" pads -- and you don't want them to stop rotating.

For the PC I kinda figured that 5" would be best, but I do like to solicit the opinion of those more experienced than I.

I have only used it on a PCxp using 5" discs.
I am very happy with the results I have achieved.
I recently purchased the 3" pads but have not tried them.
A few folks said it doesn't seem to work well on a Flex 3401.

With the Flex 3401, the stock backing plate works perfect because you get FULL pad support with the MF pads(full pad support works best with any polishing system). On the flip-side, you have zero margin for error. However, the MF pads do not work well with the 3401(I've tried it), they're designed to work best with a traditional DA polisher.

With the PCXP, use a 5" BP and 5.5" MF pads. I'm using a Meg's 6" BP cut down to 5.5" for full pad support, but most don't do this.

Do they make a 5.5" MF pad?

Yes. They are advertised as 5", but they're actually 5.5".

Whatcha gonna use the 3"ers with? I'm just finishing up my first shot with the 5" MF on a GG and am astounded with the ease of use, primo results, clean wipeoff and no gunk hanging around pinstripes and seams. Working on white leaves it LSP ready after one step, I'm going straight to 845 when I'm done polishing. (which I may never be if I keep taking breaks in front of the computer!)

I'm hoping the 3" pads with the GG 3" works as well on that previously mentioned miserably soft Vivid Black as I think it might.
