Hello,
I have had a problem lately ruining perfectly good microfibers in the washing machine. I am using cold water and washing with only microfibers using unscented/uncolored detergent but they come out matted and looking nappy.
I am line drying them.
Any idea of what could be the issue?

Try machine drying at low temp.

Try machine drying, I machine dry all my MF on low and have no issues.

Machine dry. Have for years. They will come out fluffy. I wash mine in DP MF cleaner.

As those have said, machine dry. Also use those dryer balls. Works great!

+25 for using the dryer. That will give them the fluff you are looking for.

Maybe its the detergent, I've always been told to use liquid detergent only. Worth a shot.

maybe re-rinse the towel after your final washing stage.

I use hunting detergent ( just on a whim decided to try it before I purchased the micro
fiber wash) . No scent or UV brighteners. Machine dry on low. Works like a charm.

According to an article on I just read about cleaning MF towels you should use 1/2 cup detergent and 1/2 of vinegar to wash with no fabric softener. Then machine dry low with no sheets.

OMG I may have to kill my wife. I washed and dried like 20+ MF's as well as my guzzlers a couple days ago, only to find out afterwards she had put in one of those bounty bars that stick inside the dryer.
Are my MF's ruined? or can they be saved?

ShawnWash them again, and if that doesn't work to your satisfaction, wash them yet again, this time with extra detergent (normally you would want to use quite a bit less than the standard amountof detergent) and then a couple of cycles with no detergent to really rinse them out good. Using progressive dilution in this manner puts the detergent residue to work for you.
The above technique also works well for very heavily soiled MF towels.
