This 1966 Jaguar was one of the finer, properly restored examples of this car that I have seen. However, the paint really needed some finishing and correction. The paint has been subject to some substances while sitting as well as a very good degreasing needed. Over the course of a couple days, this XKE-Type was brought back to all of its glory. Its a nice feeling knowing something so iconic can look as great as this example can drive!

Looking at that XKE just makes me crazy. I've wanted one of those since I was about 7 years old.

Great job!

Hi, I'm new to this forum and just wanted to say hello. Getting ready to start a non-abrasive paint restoration on my 65 E-Type as outlined on this site some time ago. Your work on the 66 E-Type is fantastic. Can you offer any cautions specific to this particular car.

Gorgeous car and great work. Reminds of the 1971 XKE convertible I owned. One day I was changing the oil and forgot to put the oil plug back in before filling it up. For those of you who are not familiar with the XKEs, that meant 9 quarts of Castrol Oil running down the driveway.

Another time, I could not for the life of me get the car to start and even had a mechanic come over (and he could not figure it out). All it needed was 2 drops of oil in the carburetor piston damper. Fun car, but always a challenge.
