I was looking at the pinnacle series II and would like to put it on with my griots 6" da, how hard is it to do it this way. ALso which is better series II or fuzion? I have a 68 chevelle with a fresh paint job, its light blue with pearl and metalic.
thanks

I use a DA to apply wax, it's not difficult and it does a better job of distributing the wax.
Better is subjective. Both waxes are excellent.

LOve SSII on my white paint. I put down a layer of WG DGPS first and follow with SSII. Gives the finish a glossy candy coated appearance.

Have not used Fuzion. SSII much cheaper. Smell fantastic. I open the jar just to smell it sometimes.

Let's see some pics of that 68 Chevelle! I love those cars!

As for applying wax via the DA it's the way to go in my opinion. Ensures a nice thin and even coverage and is a lot quicker.

I've never used either of those waxes but from what everyone says they are both awesome.

:welcome: To Autogeek Online!

Pinnacle Signature Series ll is a great wax and can be easily applied with a dual action polisher.

When the wax is soft enough I use a cut down 1 1/2 inch paint brush to sort of scrape it out of the tub and brush it on the pad. Others like to use a small putty knife, scrape some from the tub and spread it on the pad.

Blue or Red pad at speed setting 3.

Once you start the polisher and begin to spread it around and work it into the paint everything sort of melts right in and lays down evenly.

Different waxes look different colors and cars so beauty is in the eye of the beholder...

How often do you reapply wax paste to pad?

How often do you reapply wax paste to pad?

I read a tip by someone else, don't remember who or I would give them credit... if anyone knows who originally posted this idea let us know. Due credit to where credit is due and all that...

Assuming your car is clean, (your waxing it, it should be), dab your pad against one of the nearby windows, the glass will make it real easy to see how much or how little wax is still on the pad.

Besides that, you should always have a wet film on the surface as you're moving the pad over the paint. You should see a thin film being left on the surface. Move your buffing pad over each square inch 2-3 times to work the wax or paint sealant over the paint.

If you're working on a white or light colored car, it can be a lot more difficult to see the film you're leaving behind. To help you with this look at the panel from an angle with good light.

Another tip for colors that are hard to see the product on... I will go over an area with the polisher and if I can't tell if there is product, I will swipe my clean finger over the area to feel if product is being applied to the paintwork. Obviously you will feel the paint will have a slippery feeling if product is being applied. This works really well for me, especially with SSII.
