Ok, Pretty soon I'm going to be tackling my truck, first timer, just got my PC. When I come to these pieces (yellow arrows) can I use a 3 inch pad ? And do I also use swirl remover on this piece ? Are there 3 inch pads that are equivalent to the white CCS pad ?

Am I going about this all wrong ? Any expert advise is sucked in my brain like a sponge and I follow directions VERY well, so says my wife.

Well, if it were me I'd tape everything up real well and use my 4" pads I have for my PC on it. Or you can tackle it old school and do it by hand. Very time consuming to do it by hand though.

I'd suggest just taping it up and using the smaller pads. You have PC so I think the smallest pads you can get are the 4" pads.

This technique has worked great for me in the past. Just have to be sure you tape everything up well.

You can use a 3" pad and swirl remover on these.

Often times, one (or both) of those pieces will be plastic with a different coating on it, but if that is the vehicle you are detailing, it looks like they are painted like the rest of the vehicle.

You will want to tape all of the seals and rubber around it though, as there is no way to avoid riding it with the pad. Try not to get too heavy on the edges of the pieces, as that is where you paint is the thinnest. It is possible to mess up those sharp edges with even a PC, but if you take it slow and watch what you are doing, you will most likely be OK.

Or, you can always do those parts by hand, especially if you aren't in a hurry and doing it to make money. :)

EDIT: Tree'd by Jason. :(
