I was thinking, how many of you take the time to mask off areas? I'm sure a lot do if it comes to certain areas like vinyl stripes or pin striping, but what about just door handles? or anything around the hood or maybe if there is black plastic textured bumpers?

Because I use a rotary, I mask off lots of rubber and plastic trim on BMW's. I've had the misfortune to burn a place or 2 and won't make that mistake again. It's time consuming, but far easier than the time it would take to clean up textured trim or rubber.

I usually mask, but it depends on the car, some cars have a lot of plastic around, and i find it easyer to mask them, than clean the plastic afters, feks my Evo doesnt need masking, almost no black plastic trim at all. exept for the hood

Most of the time I don't mask.
