Just kind of a funny thing since nobody got hurt. This is what you get when you cross a hot catalytic converter, dry grass, a foot pursuit and leaving your car unattended. The day sleepers were nice enough to pause their PS3's long enough to come put it out. I get the joy of going on tv tonight to explain this to the media.

Just put a bit of britemax hahaha :D

But seriously good thing you were on a foot pursuit when it happened and not in the car.

How it'd occur? Did you get back to the car with the perp and be like "OHHH SH*T!"?

It was actually one of my deputies. I had just left the radio station after a live show when I heard the pursuit call go out. I hauled butt over to her to assist. When I got there the Vic was fully involved. The deputy didnt know until I radioed her and asked if she knew her car was on fire. At least she caught the bad guy. She had a trainee/new hire with her and this was his first day at work. Of course we are all blaming him for the mishap. Gotta love a little hazing.

I think a simple ONR wash would do it. :xyxthumbs:

ONR seems like overkill. I was just thinking about a good dusting with the Californial Duster. :dblthumb2:

Ouch! Since the catalytic converter started it, will Ford's warranty cover it?

And to think, the one time we didnt buy the extended warranty!

Our insurance adjuster came by this evening and said, "looks like you
guys just bought a Crown Vic". Apparently our deductible is VERY high!

It was amazing but the driver's side is in really good shape. I pulled up just as the right front tire blew. I thought I was dead!
