Best Swirl Remover By Hand/Applicator

Ok, now for opinions... What's the best swirl remover if you dont have a DA and have to do it by hand? Is it even possible to remove light swirls by hand? On a black car? How many times should you go over the area? Also, what's the best applicator? Foam applicator, microfiber, or cotton??? I have a PC DA but I'm curious......

You can remove swirls by hand but it is tenuous and time consuming.

I would go with Meguiars Ultimate Compound followed by Swirlx using foam applicators.
