Id love to really take the swirls correctly out of my paint but my paint thickness ranges from 3.5- to 4.5. What are some good swirl fillers that I can use to help hide these scratches?

Machine does a better job IMHO but hand works fine too. Just as an FYI I like to use a 4" pad when applying waxes as they absord less product and I feel like I can go faster than with a bigger pad.

Can anyone tell me what the paint thickness is....I guess it really doesn't mate since some of the paint is a millimeter less than other areas.

If you were confused about the 'mate' I meant to write matter...

Confused about the paint thickness. You said you had 3.5-4.5 mils. so what's your question on paint thickness?

What's the original thickness?

Can't answer your question as all paint thickness is different. Even the same make and model will vary.

The total thickness of the factory applied OEM paint film(s)--Ecoat, primer, basecoat and clearcoat--on the majority of todays vehicles range between 4.0-6.0 mils. How did you arrive at your measurements? Paint Thickness gauge? If so, IMO, a more accurate and critical measurement (microns) would be obtained if one used a dual function (millimeter/micron) PTG.

Sounds like a re-paint if there is that huge of difference (a millimeter?) between surface areas, or the clearcoat is close to being compromised.

Just my 2 1/2 cents worth :)
