A friend of mine decided to lease a 2011 BMW 328I back in November. This is the first detail that I've done on it as we just had two big snow storms and the car was in need of a good bath. As well as the interior needed to be cleaned.

The car came with the typical swirl option from the dealer, but this was just a wash, wax, and interior job. The paint correction will hopefully be coming this spring.

Products/method used

Exterior
Car was first rinsed off with my pressure washer, hooked up to my utility sink inside my house.
Tires/wheels were cleaned with Chemical Guys sticky gel wheeel cleaner (for rims), Chemical guys greenClean apc diluted 3:1 and agitated with various brushes
ONR with 2 bucket method - both buckets changed out half way through
Sheep skin wash mitt was used
Multiple Uber plush mfs
Stoners invisible glass with 2 waffle weave mfs
IPA wipe down to check the paint condition
Pinnacle XMT 180 High Gloss applied via PC & red LC CCS pad
DP Wheel glaze was applied to the rims
Poorboys Natural look dressing - hadn't tried it yet and wanted to test it out. I typically wouldn't have bothered dressing the tires since it's winter and the New England roads are nasty.

Interior
Vacuumed out
Rubber floor mats were washed with CG greenclean apc diluted 3:1 and agitated with brush
1Z cockpit premium
Dressed with 303 Aerospace
Various Brushes and MFs
Stoners Invisible Glass

Here is the car on arrival

I pulled the car into my garage after the tires/wheels were cleaned and car was given a good rinse. Pic of that to see how small my 1 car garage is. Surprisingly my Avalanche actually fits in there!

After the IPA wipe down I found swirls and scratches galore!

And the afters. I didn't have time to snap a lot of good after shots. I finished the job about 20 minutes before the Pats kick off. If I had only known I would have spent my time taking good pics instead of watching that mess!

Even the wood trim on the interior had swirls!

I forgot to mention that Lexol leather cleaner and Lexol leather conditioner were used on the seats.

Looks Awesome!! Im so glad I dont have to deal with all that snow. Im a fan of using the Lexol cleaner and conditioner as well. Nice touch getting the swirls off the wood trim. Hard to beat a black BMW when it looks like it should.

Looks Great! After you XMT 180 did it hide a lot of swirls? Looking at the after pic from a good distance looks almost swirl free. How would the car look up close if a halogen light on the paint.

So he's had that car for about 3 months and the interior already looked like that?! Good grief...

A friend of mine bought a fully loaded 2011 BMW M3 and it was a chore just to talk him out of taking it the swirl-o-matic carwash. Hopefully he won't make the same kind of a mess of the interior like that 328i. :)

Yes pls do tell. I used plastX on my vanity light covers and clock casing but am hestitant to use it on the wood trim.

My guess is you used M205 on it?

Thanks everyone. And yes after 3 months the interior was that bad. She doesn't clean her car on a regular basis (another reason I'm trying to get her on a maintenance plan). Her old car was detailed usually once a month by me. The initial detail I did on her old car was aweful! I found over $50 worth of change in her car. So, this wasn't nearly as bad. She drives around with her white pitbull, so there are white hairs every where!

Some of the swirls and scratches were hidden with the wax, however under a halogen light or my swirl finder light you can still see them. I was going to use a glaze first to see if I could get some of the swirls hidden, but was running short on time so decided against it. It's also a friend discount rate I gave her, so I was more concerned about getting it cleaned and a good coat of wax on it.

I actually didn't remove any of the swirls in the wood trim. The 2nd Pic was with out the flash. Again I was running short on time and she wasn't expecting me to remove them this time around. As there the plastic wood trim on the dash, all the door panels, and center console so it would have been at least another hour or so of polishing. I told her I'd take care of it the next time she comes for a detail and I won't charge her since she's a good friend of mine. The paint swirl removal though I'm going to have to do some convincing and even still she may not care. Which is fine.

I plan on trying the PlasticX to see how that will work. I've never attempted to remove swirls in plastic trim, so any tips would be appreciated!

Great job.

But how's he going to get it home? There's still a foot of snow on the ground!

haha try almost 2 feet of snow still on the ground. And it's snowing right now....

I'm sure by the time she got home the car was filthy again. But can't really get around that here.

I think Id rather have 2" of the fluffy stuff then 1/2" of this.

Might be hard to tell from the photos but everything is covered in ICE. The roads, cars, trees etc. So I haven't even left for work yet.
