My wife and I took our dogs to the vet today. Kuma, our big mixed breed dog, had something going on with his eye. It ended up being nothing major, thankfully.

But while my wife was inside waiting to pay, I was hanging out with our two dogs in the parking lot by her Mazda 5. It was then that our German Shepherd, Sadie, decided to jump up on the hood of the car! Twice! It was just with her front paws, but they did some damage. I thought to myself, "Well, I have some work to do tonight!" :)

The culprit...that's Sadie in the foreground, Kuma in the back.

And a close-up of one of the areas of damage. It was dark and really tough to get a good picture. It was worse than the photo looks. And there were four areas with scratches like this.

Since the entire hood needed polishing anyway, I decided to do it all. When I have some spare time I'll finish the whole car. It needs it. It's been about 8 months since the last polish.

Process...

Meg's 83, green edge pad @ 1400rpm

OP, white edge pad @ 1200rpm

Natty's blue

Verdict of the bout between the The Mazda's hood and Sadie's claws...Mazda 5 wins! :awesome:

A thought I'd matched pictures pretty well until I uploaded them. Basically the close-ups below are of the above area but at a slightly different angle and out of focus. But the scratches were removed about 95%. There were a couple areas that were a bit deeper and I didn't want to remove too much clear.

Great work!!! And such an innocent little puppy face!!
Why does he jump on cars anyhow? I have never had a dog that did that. Maybe he was hoping you'd let him help detail it, but obviously, he messed up!! (lol)
Good job once again!!!
