So most of us can't afford to spend $500-$1300 on a machine to clean carpets. I currently clean all of my clients carpet with brushes, cleaners, hot water, rags and a vacuum when the carpet is so bad that it requires heavy cleaning. This does a great job but is very time consuming. I also have possible customers that call and specifically ask If the carpets are steam cleaned or machine shampooed which I tell them no and have lost customers. I rarely get detail jobs where the carpet is so grimey or stained that it requires heavy cleaning so its just not realistic right now to spend so much money for a machine.

What are some popular affordable carpet cleaning machines you can buy online or from stores? Thanks!

There really isn't any. I use the bissel pro-heat and it does an OK job.

I'd really like to pick up the Aztec extractor.

Your best option would be to buy a carpet brush (http://autogeek.net/cyclo-brushes.html) that can be used with a dual action polisher.
