I'm doing a wash, clay, and wax on twp 2011 BMW 335i's tomorrow. Would something like clay magic blue be better? I can get that OTC.

Go to Wal-Mart and get Meguiar's Smooth Surface clay kit. Great clay - on the same level of aggressiveness as Pinnacle Ultra Poly Clay.

How new, they may not even need to be clayed depending on what has or hasn't been done to them. That being said I haven't used DP, but IIRC Meguiars OTC clay is pretty fine.

DP is fine for a new car as well. Just check the paint to see how bad it is with contaminants. Then use plenty of lube while claying. If you are polishing anyway then theres no worries but if you have some reason to fear a problem then do a small area and verify you aren't doing anything to the paint you don't want. I've never had DP cause any marring that I could see. Of course I have usually polished after claying with it.

I've got a pretty good stock of the CM blue, in fact I just used about half a bar yesterday claying a 2 year old silver SUV that had a LOT of contaminants bonded to it, and I never saw evidence of any marring whatsoever (I used ONR in a spray bottle for lube).

I did go over it afterward with Optimum Hyper Polish and a tangerine low-pro LC HT pad on my G100A, but it didn't really need it TBH. Looked awesome topped with WG DGPS3.0

I will not be polishing after claying, the customers don't want that. I'll do a test spot with DP clay and go from there. I think I'll be fine.

DP is regular or medium grade and would do fine.

It ended up working great!
