I've been maintaining this car since it was new with 343 miles on it. Don't ask me why that exact number stuck in my head, but it did lol. Been using Zaino on the car twice a year. Last year did some light correction work on it to remove some light wash-induced swirls over the years. Unfortunately a few months ago the rear was repainted and the body shop left their calling card.... swirls, RIDS, and holograms all over the car. They weren't horrific, but they're there.

This detail wasn't a correction this time around, that will be handled later. I used the Gloss-It, Gloss Finish as the LSP for the Vette this time. It gave the metal flake in the paint a little more pop in the sun. The owner was happy with it and I was as well. Again this was just a wash/clay/sealant job, no correction was done.

Process:

Exterior
-Foamed with Dawn
-Rinsed and Dawn wash
-Gloss-It Wheel Gel
-Daytona EZ detail brush
-Swissvax Wheel brush
-Clayed with Z18 and Megs LT as lube
-Gloss-It Signature Tire Gloss on tires and black trim

Interior
-Vacuumed
-Leather with Megs APC 10:1
-Zaino Z10 conditioner
-Stoner's Invisible Glass on windows
-vents and console cleaned with various brushes/qtips

LSP
-Gloss-It: Gloss Finish
-Gloss-It: Gloss Enhancer

This was in essence a working vacation.... note you can see my 09 Suzuki GSXR strapped down in the bed of my truck. Went for a cruise with my car club the day after this detail, 120 miles from home.

Looks great! :props:

Using APC 1:10 safe on leather? Or should I get a dedicated leather cleaner?

Must be a fun car to get to see several times a year.

Looks like your taking great care of it, too bad the body shop did what they did.

I would avoid using APC on leather, as it's not recommended by most (or any?) leather professionals.

Awesome job on the car, it looks great!

I'd like to know your source info for that.

Hi,

Some forum members that come to mind are judyb and RogerKoh (autopia). You may also have good luck contacting Lederzentrum GmbH and Leather Master of Uniters SpA. Although these suggestions come from parties with an intent to make profit, one may inquire for general leather care and form a conclusion based upon that basis.

Hope this helps :)

:iagree: For example: I would apply 'Leatherique' on the leather. Otherwise, I say Very Nice!

I have a question regarding the usage of Dawn:[I assume, and correct me if I'm wrong, that you probably used Dawn to help rid this vehicle's finish of the previous mentioned Zaino applications]; but,

This forum has many posts about using this type of detergent for the washing step(s)---it may eventually do harm to the clearcoat, etc.---What is your opinion on this matter? I for one am not beyond using Ivory Liquid or Dawn (they really produce the suds to help lubricate--and that's what it's all about! IMHO any and all car wash products remove most LSPs, except for products like Zaino, Liquid Glass, Rejex where the best bet seems to be polishing, a cleaner/wax, or an AIO. Help
