:) Hi guys. I hope everybody had a happy Easter. I have a really dumb question, but I confess I had to ask it because when I think about it I'm really not sure. Should I use fabric softener on my microfibers when I wash them? I never have because I thought it might leave streaks on my car, but then I got to thinking that maybe the softener would make the fabric that much softer and reduce swirls. Does anybody have a definitive answer on this?? Sorry for this question. Thanks in advance to all who respond.
:)

Never use softner on MFs. It makes them suck.

I know cause my dearest mother being the kind soul she is washed my whole stash with softner.

My mom did the same thing not knowing that it was a bad move. I could not get mad at her because she still does my laundry. :p Yeah I know I'm spoiled.

AG does sell microfiber wash detergents one is of the Pinnacle brand and the other is called Micro-Restore. (see links below)

Make sure you don't dry them with any dryer sheets either. And clean the lint trap before you dry them. Dryer sheets will cause them to streak. They may not stick to each other when you pull them out of the dryer, but their performance in the garage will be hurt. I'll take static cling over streaky microfibers.

use a specific microfibber cleaner (Pinnacle Restore, Microrestore), use little to no heat, and never fabric softner. Only other hint is to keep seperate from regular towels.

I add a cup of white distilled vinegar to the rinse water when washing my MFs. They always come out soft and plush. The vinegar acts as a "natural" fabric softener that rinses clean away.
