Tonight I started on a SmartCar. This is a car my dad took in off of trade and will be selling. He doesn’t want any paint correction done but wants everything looking nice. I have the exterior done and will do the interior tomorrow.
I just got a new DSLR camera so I wanted to play around with it hence the writeup on a car that didnt have paint correction.
Process:
-Remove wheels/ clean with Opt Power Clean (too narrow to get a brush in there so I figured I could just remove them almost as fast as trying to get a brush in there)
-ONR wash (I used a small pressure sprayer and sprayed the car down prior)
-Clay w/ONR lube
-Sealant w/ Menz Power Lock
-Dress trim w/ UTTG
-This stuff is great!! I traded a sample with Mark and have to say I am absolutely sold on this stuff. See pics below
Now onto the Pics

Thank you, for the tires I used wolfgang back diamond and for the windows I havent done them yet. That is just from the onr wash. I will do them after I finish the interior but I use Megs glass cleaner concentrate.

I've secretly wanted to drive and detail one of these Smart golf carts. I would like to have a picture of me trying to get in and out of a smart car.

Your work looks great. Have you tried using 303 Aerospace protectant on the plastic?

Just out of curiosity, what size are those rims?

The results look amazing with just the hands and no rotary. I like the way you clayed the vinyl, learned something new in that shot. Amazing!

Jon,

It great to see you took your time and covered very inch of the cars. I like the way you removed the wheels and tires and did a proper job there as well.

Superb work and I'm sure your father was pleased! :props:

Thanks Mark, and thanks again for making the trade with me. I really do love this stuff and those 2oz will last a long time.

Thank you for the kind words. I have used 303 and like it but I feel UTTG gives a more uniform look. How tall are you, I am 6'2" maybe a little taller and a pretty big guy and I have no room getting in and out. Supprisingly there is much more room that it appers would be there. My head doesnt even come close to hitting teh roof.

Thank you, That is actually me claying the paint but I have clayed all smooth surfaces on the car(paint, glass, smooth plastic etc. I havent found any issues except on textured plastic, it just doesnt work.

What did you use to apply the UTTG?

I used a makeup wedge. You can get them from target, They are perfect for small compact areas where precision is needed. Doing a car like a Honda Element would take forever using those things but for the trim on the Smart Car it was perfect. The best part is that they are disposable.

Thank you jimmy I appreciate it!

Thank you Bobby, I try to be as thorough as possible. I learned alot from here at AG. My detailing ability has sky rocketed in the past year and a half (since I became a member)

I was joking with wife about this very ride just this weekend, I guaranteed I could put on and buff off a coat of Pinnacle in less than 7 minutes.

I waited 13 months for my triple black Smart. Everyone that got into it was surprised how roomy it was - and getting in and out is simple...much easier than my Honda S2000 that replaced the Smart. Other than the quirky transmission (the reason I sold it after three months - at a profit) I liked the car.

Nice work :xyxthumbs: So what did you think after using the Power Clean on the wheels? Just curious. Also, did you dilute it or use it straight?
