Kevin Brown posted this very interesting and scientific review/study on the Autopia website. It's a great read.

Wow... I hadn't been to Autopia in a while... the new owners have REALLY destroyed that site!
Of course Kevin's information was excellent as usual.
Personally I only use PFW with a rotary since with a DA, the thicker nap of the pad absorbs much of the tool's energy instead of transferring it to the surface being buffed.

Man, those pencil-tip pictures took me back to the Andromeda Strain...

Yeah, and I notice the store and the vendor forum are now exclusively 3D/HD products.

If you are ever working on something like this truck, all aluminum that is. PFW on the 3401 works very nicely. As far as polishing paint with it I have never tried. I haven't tried the Surbuf pads either but want to.

Don't use the Surbuff on a rotary.

Well, I've used the LC-PFW pad several times on the 3401, I've used the Surbuf pads a few times, due to them being new to my collection, I dont have a lot of exeperience with them. In my limited experience, the Surbuf definately cuts better, cuts but the LC-PFW pad finishes down rather nicely. I used to do one steps on lighter colored vehicles that needed correction work with the PFW pads with 151 on the 3401 or PC and it worked nicely.
