I've been looking for something a little more practical than my Mustang for awhile now. I've driven a couple SRT-8s and a G8 GT over the past couple weeks and I've all but decided on a Charger. Anyone here who owns/has owned one? If not, anyone with experience detailing them? The car I'm most interested in is a red 08 which unfortunately looks like it's been through it's fair share of tunnel washes and sticky interior dressing.

No experience with the Charger.

But...with all the knowledge on this forum you can get just about any car looking brand new again. Only allow the condition of the paint and interior panels (within reason) to help you negotiate price, but dont let it stop you from buying it.

You'll love the Charger SRT8. It has gobs of power and the aftermarket for the LX cars is awesome!! Log onto the srtconnection.com and poke around. There's LOTS of LX info there.

Good luck!!

First look at Consumer Reports because they don't give any Dodge product a recommendation. Not to be a kill joy but make sure you are getting what you are paying for.

I can't comment on the paint, but I do know the LX cars have had front end problems from the get go. That's definitely something to watch out for, not to mention the "OMG!" cost of the brake hardware when it comes time to do it (SRT-8 has Brembos front and rear). Good luck. :xyxthumbs:

What makes an SRT8 more practical than a Mustang? Bigger back seat & trunk? I love them both, but I don't quite see how it is "Practical". "Practical" would be a 4-banger Fusion, Camry, or Accord :)

At this point it would be more practical to get the base model 3.5l V6. Honestly all the 300c's, chargers, magnums, and challenger base models feel very cheap and chintzy almost like cookie cutter cars. (which would explain why they are rental fleet vehicles.

The SRT-8 Charger is a nice car with plenty of power. If you get one just don't park it in NYC.
