Second Full Detail - VW Tourag

I finished my second full detail on a VW Tourag. 15 hours invested.
What I did:
Exterior
1. Wash
2. Clay (Wolfgang)
3. Swirl/Scratch removal - Orange Pad (Wolfgang/Meguires 105)
4. Paint Enhancement - White pad (Wolfgang)
5. Glaze - Blue pad (Wolfgang)
6. Paint Sealant - Red pad (Wolfgang)
7. Wax - Red pad (Meguires NXT)
--use Flex 3401 (I am glad I made this purchase. outstanding machine!)

Interior
1. 303 Vinyl/Carpet cleaner
2. 303 Aerospace Protectant (lower vinyl)
3. Wolfgang vinyl/rubber protectant (upper vinyl/dash
4. Leatherique
5. Diamondite Glass Cleaner

I did not get pics but the door jams, rear hatch crevices, hood crevices all cleaned and hand waxed. The final result was excellent. The owner ohhh-n-ahhh'd for quite a while. I am very satisfied.

Which Wolfgang product? Total Swirl Remover?
4. Paint Enhancement - White pad (Wolfgang)

Which Wolfgang product? Finishing Glaze or Polish enhancer?
5. Glaze - Blue pad (Wolfgang)

Wolfgang doesn't make a true glaze.
6. Paint Sealant - Red pad (Wolfgang)
7. Wax - Red pad (Meguires NXT)

Interesting choice here. Did it make a difference? NXT is actually a sealant, so I would've gone with another coat of DGPS. Did you let the DGPS cure?

TonradoRed, I guess my post was a bit confusing.

All pads (except the final red) are Lake County. Final red pad is a Cobra Cross. (I think I prefer the cobra cross pads over the Lake County but they all work fine for me)

Wolfgang Total Swirl Remover 3.0
A few sections with big scratches, I used the Meguires 105.

I then used the Wolfgang Paintwork Polish Enhancer.
Normally, I would just go straight to the glaze, but the Polish Enhancer really seems to add depth to the paint so I took the time to do it.

I use the Wolfgang Finishing Glaze 3.0

The reason I used the NXT was simply out of availability. I really want to get the Fuzion but have not gotten it yet. I am pretty happy with the Wolfgang DGPS 3.0. However, I have found that without a top coat of wax, it does not bead all that well or for very long. I have seen a lot of comments on the forum about those that like to use the NXT. Meguires calls the NXT a wax but as you said, it is really a poly based sealer. I was really after the extra protection. I can't say that the NXT actually made any difference. I do know the NXT went on very quickly and it was not too difficult to wipe off. There was definitely less static and the paint surface feels silky smooth.
I did not wait 12 hours to allow the DGPS to cure but I did give it about 6 hours.

This is interesting because Polish Enhancer is a paint cleaner to be used when not using polish. If you still want to use it, you should wait until you're done polishing. Since Finishing Glaze is actually a polish and not a true glaze, you went backwards and removed any benefits of the Polish Enhancer. Use the Polish Enhancer after Finishing Glaze if you must use it.

Finishing Glaze should be named Finishing Polish.

It is hard to take all the credit. I used to do some detailing about 25 years ago. Things changed...back then, I used a high speed buffer that weighed as much as a ship anchor. Pasty compound in a tin can, and good ol fashioned carnuba wax.
Getting started all over again takes time to learn the new tricks and what products are worth investing in. Money was a factor to buy everything so Wolfgang was my choice. I have come to like the DP stuff too. I have benefited more from this site than any other. The feedback provided has been great. The online tutorials have been a huge help.
Without AutoGeek, I would be nothing more than an autoDweeb!

On a slightly different note....I just hope Santa knows how hard I have been working and his compassion is shared with many like me this year.
