you are going to get a wide range of responses to this question...that being said, I'm sure many will agree that M105/M205 combo, a DA polisher (porter cable or griots are both good for starters), a sealant and wax [personal preference and depends on the type of paint on your car (color, metallic, single stage, ect...)] are must haves. As far as sealant and wax, wolfgangs deep gloss paint sealant 3.0 is awesome and max wax (currently on BOGO) is a great all around wax.

Might as well just get it over while the sales are running and buy one of everything. It's where you'll end up eventually anyway!

Definitely get a DA. I been using Griot's DA and played around with Dewalt rotary. I would recommend getting an DA first because its very hard for you to burn paint or damage the car paint because it a lot less dangerous then rotary. You also need couple buckets with grit guard, nice towels, pads for your DA, soap, tire shine, APC, get 105/205 amazing stuff. Clay bars, carpet cleaner, wax, sealant, mitts. There so much more stuff that you need, depend on what your working with. Just look around website and see what works for you. Definitely check out Meguiar's stuff its cheaper then other stuff and the results are amazing.

I highly recommend this stuff.

Meguiars mirror glaze, mirror glaze, Meguiars Gold Class, meguiars car care, meguiars wax, meguiars products, meguiars nxt, meguiars marine (http://www.autogeek.net/meguiars.html)
Meguiars Professional Detailer Products (http://www.autogeek.net/meguiars-professional-products.html)

Good luck with your purchase, everyone here is very helpful. :dblthumb2:
